Singer Kelly Clarkson graces the latest cover of UsWeekly magazine under the heading: How I Lost 30 pounds!
Kelly, age 30, who has been criticized most of her career for her weight has finally gotten down to her ideal weight with the help of dieting, exercising, and her boyfriend!
First Kelly credits her weight loss to a five days a week training schedule and a portion-control diet. The 5-foot-4 singer has shed a rather impressive 30 pounds in the last six months. “She feels better about herself than she ever has,” a source says of Kelly, who is now just 10 pounds away from her ultimate goal weight.
Kelly also credits her Nashville beau, talent manager Brandon Blackstock, 35, for inspiring her to get fit. “No one likes to be not toned when you are dating someone,” she says. And fortunately for Kelly, Brandon, who manages Blake Shelton, was very encouraging. The insider states, “Brandon is the first guy ever who tells her how beautiful and sexy she is. She wants to look good for him…”
So what exactly is Kelly’s slim down plan? Well according to her Tennesse-based trainer Nora James, Kelly breaks out a sweat doing cardio and weight-lifting sessions. Kelly also admits “I only run when I feel like I need to get destressed.”
When it comes to her diet, gone are the days of hamburger sliders and fish and chips. Now the singer sticks to vegetables and healthy proteins like chicken and fish. And rather than snacking during the day, she guzzles water and takes her dogs for long walks.
Kelly is however careful not to make her diet too rigid. To control cravings, she allows herself the occasional margarita or plate of barbecue. Then, says the source, “she eats well for her other meals to balance it out.”
