Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Honsou Have Split, Says Report
Another day, another celebrity? couple calling it quits!
According to a new report today, Kimora Lee Simmons and actor spouse Djimon Honsou have separated following a “big fight over money”.
Source tells the NY Daily News that “Djimon walked out on Kimora,” adding that the split might have been a result of Kimora’s ex-husband, hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons’ recent decision to stop funding the couple’s lifestyle. Yikes.
“Kimora lives as if she’s the Queen of England,” adds the source. In fact, the Daily News also cites the fact that Kimora, 37, recently put her six-bedroom, eight-bath Beverly Hills country home on the market for a loss. While she paid $5.9 million for the home at the height of the market in 2007, it is now listed it for $4.7 million.
Kimora is however of course denying she is having financial difficulty by tweeting the following on Monday: “Wow, I put 1 of several properties I own (+ DONT live in) on the market & now apparently my whole life is fallin apart?!” she tweeted. “Rumors, Rumors …”
Oddly enough, she has yet to deny the reports of a split.
A source also reveals they noticed tension between the couple during a holiday party Kimora threw. “Kimora stuck Djimon with keeping track of the three kids while she socialized with her ex,” the source says, adding that “Kimora and Djimon were fighting on New Year’s Eve.”
“He is a calm, super-nice person and she’s such a diva,” adds the source. “I couldn’t believe they got together in the first place.”
Kimora and Djimon, 48, began dating in March 2007. Kimora split from ex-husband Russell in 2006 following 10 years of marriage and have two daughters, Ming , 12, and Aoki , 9. The divorce was finalized in 2009.In the summer of 2008, Kimora and Djimon had a traditional Beninese commitment ceremony. Kimora gave birth to their son Kenzo Lee Hounsou in May 2009.
