Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas might be on the brink of divorce.

The latest issue of the National Enquirer states the power Hollywood couple is currently facing major issues in their marriage which could lead to a $50 million divorce.

“There’s a lot of money at take,” a family friend tells The Enquirer. “Melanie’s a mess. Not only is she in jeopardy of losing the love of her life, but her career is in the toilet while Antonio’s star is continuing to rise.”

The mag adds that the long union reached a breaking point after his reported cheating. Antonio was caught flirting with not one, but TWO exotic beauties at the recent Cannes film festival in France.

“I think Melanie’s self-esteem hit an all-time low and she believed Antonio was torturing her,” the friend revealed. “For years it is as if she’s been consumed with jealousy over his flirting and outspoken love for beautiful women. I don’t think Melanie can live with the constant fear that he might cheat.”

Melanie — who has a 15-year-old daughter, Stella, with Antonio – also blew up after seeing photos of him getting very friendly with a young Melanie-look-alike at a Cancun nightclub.

Another issue for the couple is also the huge imbalance in their career status, as Melanie was the bigger star when they first married, but now Antonio has gone into international stardom.

Sources warn that a divorce between the two “could very well be the nastiest.” Yikes.
