Katie Holmes Files For Divorce & Sole Custody of Suri; Tom Cruise Is “Blindsided”

Katie Holmes has officially filed for divorce from Tom Cruise.

TMZ is confirming Kate, 33, just filed the papers in New York on June 28, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Sources close to Tom, 48, reveal he was “blindsided” by Katie’s divorce filing.

And it seems this divorce might get a little ugly as Katie also filed papers to get sole custody of the couple’s 6-year-old daughter Suri Cruise. In addition to sole legal custody, she is also asking for “primary residential custody” and a “suitable amount” of child support.

Despite signing a prenup, Katie is asking for a division of property in her divorce.

TMZ reports that Tom is “very sad” and “did not see this coming.”

Tom’s rep issued a statement on his behalf stating,  “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children.  Please allow them their privacy to work this out.”
