UPDATE – TMZ reported on July 5 that Andy died within 24 hours of suffering a heart attack. He also suffered from coronary artery disease, hypertension and hyperlipidemia over the years.

A TV legend is no longer with us.

TMZ is confirming Andy Griffith has died at the age of 86.

Andy, most famous for “The Andy Griffith Show,” passed away this morning at his home in Manteo, North Carolina.

Details are still developing as there’s no word yet on how he died. RIP Andy.

UPDATE – Andy Griffith’s cause of death is currently pending though early reports are stating he died of natural causes.

It should also be noted that Andy suffered from Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that can cause sudden paralysis. He also suffered a heart attack and underwent quadruple bypass surgery back in 2000.
