Was Katy Perry displaying astonishing powers of psychic ability when she took to the studio in 2008 to sing about a particular dilemma of the heart?

Seems freakishly familiar to the ongoing are they/aren’t they booty-call romance between the Teenage Dream singer and fellow warbler John Mayer.

Radaronline reports that Katy, 27, is said to have hit a wall over John’s exasperating indifference to their casual relationship and told him to ‘…lose her number’.

“John just can’t commit, and he kept luring Katy back with promises that was going to change, but then he didn’t. Katy was pretty crazy about him, so she kept giving him another chance,” alleges a source close to the freshly divorced singer.

“John liked Katy, so he wanted to keep her in his life, but it just wasn’t up to Katy’s standards. She needs the guy to be on board 100 percent and she was sick of John disappearing for five days at a time, then booty calling her, then straightening up and treating her well, only to go back to his old behavior a few days later.”

And we do so absolutely hate to say we told you so! Maybe it’s time to go back to kissin’ girls, Katy?
