Will Smith has built himself into a mega-star and is well-known for his many roles and comedic timing. But there was a time in his life that he wasn’t always this nice.
Back in 1989 when Will was a Fresh Prince of Bellaire, he had an altercation with record promoter, William Hendricks, which led to Smith allegedly requesting his bodyguard, Charles “Charlie Mack” Alston, to take care of him.
According to the police report, Hendricks was left with a fracture of his left eye orbit and was hospitalized, where he received six stitches.
That doesn’t sound too bad.
Smith was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and criminal conspiracy. However, the charges were dropped.
In 2005 Smith opened up about that time in his life saying; “It wasn’t my fault. That’s what they all say! But it wasn’t my fault. This is back in Philly. One of my buddies beat up this dude, and I was there. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.”
As you should!
