Argo Is No.1 Again While Funsize & Cloud Atlas Flops!
Ben Affleck’s, Argo, has once again swept the box office sales this past weekend, coming in at $12.3 million dollars.
Hotel Transylvania climbed back up the chart hitting second place at $9.5 million, over new release, Cloud Atlas, starring, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and Hugh Grant, at just $9.4 million dollars. Pretty darn bad considering the move cost an astonishing $100 to make!
Considering Halloween is right around the corner, Paranormal Activity 4, only made $8.675 million, and placing fifth is “Taken 2,” at $8 million. Overall, the sales were down this past weekend from last year – 93 million to a mere $81 million.
As for the remainder of the top 10, a few notables with Alex Cross falling to 9th place earning only $5.05 million this week. Silent Hill: Revelation came in 6th place with $8 million. The movie had a budget of $20 million.
Newcomer comedy Funsize flopped pretty badly at the box office. Despite having big name stars such as Chelsea Handler and Victoria Justice, the movie only managed to pull in $4.1 million. The upside is that the movie had somewhat of a low budget, only costing $14 million to make.
The Box Office top 10 chart is below with the total domestic gross to date in brackets.
