Toni Braxton Accused of Bankruptcy Fraud; Gave Husband $53K
R&B singer-songwriter, Toni Braxton, is finding herself in some fraudulent-deep waters after transferring a sum of $53,490 to her estranged husband to allegedly avoid paying creditors after she filed for bankruptcy.
According to new documents filed for the case, Toni paid out the large sum of money to, Keri Lewis, in an attempt to hide the assets which were already ear-marked for the estate holdings.
TMZ reported: “Toni filed for bankruptcy in 2010, claiming she owed between $10 million and $50 million in debts.” A source close to Toni however insists there is no funny business. “All of the payments made to Keri prior to Toni’s bankruptcy filing were appropriate transfers for reasonable and necessary personal and business expenses in the ordinary course of her business.”
Sure! Okay.
And now, the bankruptcy trustee is suing Keri to get the money back. However, a rep assures us that; “Toni will continue to provide the trustee whatever info is needed to address the allegation.”
Like she has a choice.
