VIDEO: Jennifer Lawrence SNL Opening Skit – Jokes About Fellow Oscar Nominees!
Jennifer Lawrence was taking no prisoners during her (slightly awkward) appearance on Saturday Night Live.
After explaining that she was not trash talking Meryl Streep during her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes when she said “I beat Meryl!” Jennifer went to town assuring her fellow Oscar nominees’ that they don’t stand a chance in hell of beating her, “Ladies, I love you all, but you’re about to get served,” Jennifer joked before going on to address each actress individually.
“Well, well, well, look who it is…Jessica Chastain. More like Jessica Chast-ain’t winning no Oscar on my watch!” she said. “In Zero Dark Thirty, you caught Bin Laden. So what? In Winter’s Bone, I caught a squirrel and then I ate it. BOOM. Deal with that.”
When a picture of Naomi Watts came on the screen, Jennifer joked, “You were in The Impossible. You know what else is impossible? You beating me on Oscar night.”
Even little 9-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis, nominated for Beasts of the Southern Wild, wasn’t spared; “You think you can beat me? Whatchu talkin’ bout, Wallis?” Jennifer jokingly said. “Also, the alphabet called — they want their letters back.”
“An 85-year-old French lady. Yeah, I think I can take you,” the actress deadpanned about 85-year-old actress Emmanuelle Riva, nominated for the French film Amour:
After each quip Jennifer said something positive about each actress, making the skit even more humorous.
