That is the question we are asking today about
husband stealer country singer LeAnn Rimes whose latest album Spitfire bombed… badly.
The album, which oddly enough earned critical acclaim had disastrous sales, only selling 10, 798 copies in its first week of release.
Spitfire, which was on June 4, debuted at No. 36 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Let’s compare that to Queens of the Stone Age‘s sixth studio album, …Like Clockwork, which debuted at No. 1 with 91,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan data.
I’m almost inclined to feel bad for LeAnn except she is the only one to blame for all of her negative press and public backlash. As you all know, LeAnn’s squeaky clean image was tarnished back in 2009 after Us Weekly exposed her affair with her married costar Eddie Cibrian. LeAnn was also married at the time.
The public could have probably overlooked LeAnn’s bad behavior and forgiven her except she continued with the affair, and ultimately ended up marrying Eddie. Even worse, LeAnn, 30, has continued to trash and taunt Eddie’s ex-wife in the media while engaging in cray cray Twitter wars with random people.
When you add all that together, it’s no wonder the public has lost interest in LeAnn as a whole.
The silver lining in this is that Spitfire did manage to land at No. 9 on Billboard’s Top Country Album chart. So congrats are in order?
