VIDEO – Melissa McCarthy Mocks Rutgers Scandal As Coach Kelly On SNL Skit!

Melissa McCarthy hosted Saturday Night Live this past weekend, for the second time in her career.

As usual, the 42-year-old actress did not dissapoint during her hosting duties! In perhaps what can only be described as her funniest skit from the episode, Melissa mocked the recent Rutgers basketball scandal involving coach Mike Rice and his abusive behavior towards his players by playing Sheila Kelly, the coach of Middle Delaware State’s women’s basketball team.

In the spoof, ‘Outside the Lines‘ conducted an investigative report, during which Coach Kelly was seen cursing at and pushing her players,  by throwing basketballs and toasters at them, while also tasering them, and threatening them with a baseball bat.

Folks, this might just be one of the funniest SNL skits of all time.

NBC’s Jenna Wolfe Comes Out As Lesbian! Expecting Baby With Partner Stephanie Gosk

In what can only be described as a double whammy, NBC anchor Jenna Wolfe is not only coming out of the closet, but also revealing she’s expecting her first child with her partner NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk!

Jenna, 39, has been long rumored to be a lesbian and it appears she is finally ready to come out of the closet or rather open up about her personal life.

Talking to PEOPLE magazine, Jenna reveals she’s expecting her first child — a daughter— in late August.

JENNA WOLFE GETS DEMOTED ON TODAY SHOW!

“This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to us,” the Today weekend anchor tells PEOPLE. “But I don’t want to bring my daughter into a world where I’m not comfortable telling everyone who I am and who her mother is.”

Jenna adds that she and her partner Stephanie, 40, have been together for over 3 years. The two began talking about starting a family last year.

Jenna and Stephanie are also planning to get married in the future, though their top priority right now is their baby.  “In a way, we can’t wait to start,” says Jenna. “Stephanie keeps saying, ‘Hurry up! What’s taking so long?’ And I’m like, ‘[The baby's] cooking!’”

Congrats to Jenna & Stephanie!

REPORT – Seth Meyers to Replace Jimmy Fallon as Late Night Host

Get ready for a number of changes and shake ups at NBC in 2014!

First, it was reported that Jay Leno will be departing The Tonight Show when his contract ends next year. Replacing Jay will be none other than Jimmy Fallon, host of Late Night.

This of course leaves a spot open for a new host to replace Jimmy. And according to the NY Post, that new host will be none other that Saturday Night Live’s Seth Meyers!

So how did this come about? Well SNL mastermind Lorne Michaels also happens to produce Late Night and reportedly favors Seth as the new host, though for the time being, nothing is set in stone.

Matt Lauer Admits Ann Curry’s Firing Was Not Handled Well, Talks Today’s Show’s Low Ratings

In an interview with the Daily Beast, Matt Lauer finally opened up about The Today Show’s drastic decline in ratings and the scandalous ousting of former co-host Ann Curry.

“It was a hard time for everybody,” Matt said about the negativity the show received. “We were getting kicked around a lot. Some of it was self-inflicted and perhaps deserved.”

“I don’t think the show and the network handled the transition well. You don’t have to be Einstein to know that,” he continued.  “It clearly did not help us. We were seen as a family, and we didn’t handle a family matter well.”

Indeed, the show has suffered immensely in the ratings department since Ann Curry was let go and replaced by Savannah Guthrie.  Since then, Matt himself has been the target of criticism over his alleged role in Ann’s departure, and the show’s dwindling popularity.

Though Matt has faced much of the backlash, NBC News’ former president Steve Capus is standing up for Matt, saying that the 55-year-old host is paying the price for a decision he was never behind; ‘When Matt was informed that we had made this decision [to fire Ann], his good counsel was to go slow, to take care of Ann, and to do the right things,” Capus explains. “He was quietly and publicly a supporter of Ann’s throughout the entire process. It is unfair that Matt has shouldered an undue amount of blame for a decision he disagreed with.”

For his part, Matt, is taking this experience as an opportunity to grow; “In some ways being No. 2 in the ratings is a real shot in the arm, a kick in the pants.  It makes you hungrier … I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have a fire lit under your ass.”

And, while Matt and The Today Show have seen better days, Matt says he and his huge paycheck are going to stay positive; “I’m not going to whine or get depressed. Who’s going to feel sorry for me? Nobody.”

Barbara Walters Says Elisabeth Hasselbeck Wasn’t Fired; Is She Lying To Cover Up For The View?

The View’s co-creator, Barbara Walters, is denying rumors that Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been fired from the show, despite reports that Elisabeth’s contract will not be renewed.

“The truth is, we love Elisabeth…Beyond that, we value and appreciate her point of view,” Barbara said on the March 11th episode of the talk show. “It’s important to us because Elisabeth helps give this show perspective and balance…We have no plans for Elisabeth to leave the show.” Interesting wording there Barbara!

Though Barbara said they didn’t have any plans to let Elisabeth go, she did add the following, “[Executive producer] Bill [Geddie] and I have always said that when one of you makes the choice to leave, that is your choice, and we will support your decision.”

So is Barbara implying that Elisabeth, herself, decided to leave the show?  No, but that’s the seed Barbara is trying to plant, according to a source that spoke to Us Weekly; “Producers are just leaving the door open for Elisabeth to announce she is leaving on her own when she is ready,” the insider explains. “They don’t want to make her look bad and don’t want to make the show look bad for canning her…They just want to make it seem like Elisabeth decided to leave on her own when the announcement comes.”

Eh, not buying it.  ABC’s infamous for its liberal bias and I’m guessing her extreme conserative views are not only unpopular with fans, but also with the network.  Though I know debating makes the show, Elisabeth’s views may be a little too far right.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Fired From The View! She Is Unpopular With Fans, Says Report

The View is just losing them left and right this week.

Following Joy Behars March 7th announcement that she will be leaving the show, another announcement was made via Us Weekly the very next day stating that her co-host, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, will also be leaving the show, but not by her own will.

“The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right wing,” an insider told Us regarding a market research poll, which showed that Elisabeth’s conservative views are not popular with the show’s audience.  ”People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed.”

Elizabeth has gotten into some pretty heated political arguments with the show’s other hosts, and guests, in the past.  Including one  last November with co-host Barbara Walters, after Barbara tried shutting down (a stupid comment) Elisabeth made regarding a statement by Mitt Romney.

Following that argument, many comments were made around the Internet reflecting the statements made by the alleged research poll- people refuse to watch the show because of the 35-year-old host.

Though Us Weekly’s “source” seems confident in their claims, a View rep later told Us that “Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a valued member of The View and has a long term contract.”

Hmmm … interesting, as they didn’t exactly deny or confirm the allegation that Elizabeth, who joined The View panel back in 2003, was let go.
