Joy Behar’s Leaving The View After 16 Years!

All good things must come to an end. After more than 16 and a half years as a co-host on The ViewJoy Behar is leaving the hit show.

Joy, 70 (yes she’s 70 years old!), made the shocking announcement to Deadline about her plan to quit the long-running ABC talk show when her contract ends in August.

“It seemed like the right time,” said Joy to Deadline during a phone interview on March 7. “You reach a point when you say to yourself, ‘Do I want to keep doing this?’ There are other things on my plate — I’ve been writing a play, I’ve been neglecting my standup.”

ABC also commented on Joy’s upcoming departure. “Joy Behar has been instrumental in the success of The View from the very beginning,” ABC said in a statement to Deadline. “We wish her all the best in this next chapter and are thrilled that we have her for the remainder of the season.”

Next to Barbara Walters, Joy is the second-to-last cast original cast member to remain on the show since it first aired 16½ years ago.  Their fellow season one co-hosts Meredith Vieira and Star Jones departed the series in 2006, while Debbie Matenopoulos left in 1999. The current panel includes Whoopi GoldbergElisabeth Hasselbeck, and Sherri Shepherd.

As for the exact reason Joy is leaving the show, she is reportedly hoping to host a new interview show. There are also rumblings Joy is in talks with CNN.

Jessica Simpson Accidentally Reveals She Is Having A Boy!

Last night, a glowing Jessica Simpson accidentally confirmed that she and fiancé, Eric Johnson, are expecting a baby boy!

“It’s a total different pregnancy. I just feel awful. I’ve been vomiting. I had no idea that a wiener can make me nauseous,” Jessica said while on air on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night.

When she realized what she had just said, Jessica laughed and chided herself for the slip: “Oh shucks! Well I guess told the world that I was having a boy,” the 32-year-old mom said, adding “I can’t believe I just did that, that was not planned.  I just did it so crude, I feel awful!”

Aw Jess, we wouldn’t expect anything less from you.  That’s what makes you so lovable.

The singer also acknowledged getting pregnant again, just seven months after giving birth to her first child, daughter Maxwell; “I keep planning on getting married, but I keep getting knocked up. It’s just one of those things,” Jessica told Jimmy.   “Maybe I should go back to when I was younger, I was a virgin before I was married, so maybe I should just completely reverse and stop having sex altogether until Eric [Johnson] and I actually say I do.”

Or they could try birth control.  Just a thought.

Jessica also mentioned a possible name for the baby- Ace.

Whatever name she decides to go with, we’re sure Jessica’s little man will be just gorgeous! Here’s wishing both mom and baby a continued healthy pregnancy and easy delivery!

Will Jimmy Fallon Replace Jay Leno Next Year On NBC?

Does NBC plan on pulling the ol’ talk-show host switcheroo, again?

While NBC is denying that they are making preparations for Jay Leno’s departure from The Tonight Show after his contract expires in 2014, “two high-level industry” sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the network is in fact planning to announce that the 2013-2014 season will be Jay’s last as the host of their most popular late-night show.  And who are do they want in Jay’s place?  Why none other than NBC’s Late Night, Jimmy Fallon.

If the sources have it right, NBC is concerned over the competition ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! will bring their network.  But not about the competition he will bring them now; Jay has and continues to beat out not only Kimmel, but all the other late night talk show hosts in ratings on a regular basis, despite pushing out his first replacement, Conan O’Brien, in one of the messiest network/network star divorces ever.  However, while Jay still brings in the highest ratings now, NBC is allegedly concerned over Kimmel’s popularity amongst the 18-49 demographic, and what impact that popularity will have on future ratings. “Kimmel has done extremely well,” a network veteran says, adding that he is unaware of any contemplated Leno move. “Jay wins overall, but on any given night, it’s neck-and-neck in 18-49. I understand where they might have fear and also feel that they own the solution [in Fallon.]”

The Hollywood Reporter also points out that NBC may be concerned over a possible [David] Letterman retirement announcement.   David, like Jay, has a contract that runs through 2014, and NBC may be nervous that if they don’t have Fallon signed on to take over The Tonight show by then, they may be facing another debacle if Jay is also removed from his position as The Tonight Show’s host next year.  Not that David has announced any plans to retire.  In fact, both he and Jay are probably waiting for the other one to walk away first, as they have enjoyed an open feud since Jay underhandedly took over as The Tonight Show’s host, a position which David wanted.

Though Jay is not the type to allow himself to be “pushed out of office,” nor has he made any indication that he plans on stepping down from his throne, my advice to Jimmy Fallon- just in case he does find himself being asked to replace Jay- is to make sure to get an airtight contract from NBC that leaves no room for Jay to come claim his kingdom once again.  Just ask Conan about it.

CW’s 90210 Cancelled After Five Seasons!

Sad news for 90210 fans (are there any of those left?) The CW has cancelled the teen drama after five seasons on the air.

“The CW has had five great seasons with America’s favorite zip code, 90210,” CW network president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement. “I’d like to thank the talented cast, producers, and crew for all their hard work and dedication to the series. We are very proud of the West Beverly High alumni.”

If they’re so proud why are they canceling the show you ask?  It’s due to the show’s low ratings.  Unfortunately for the cast (which includes AnnaLynne McCord, Shenae Grimes, Matt Lanter, Jessica Stroup) and crew, the remake of the hit 90’s show hasn’t fared as well as its predecessor.

One of the series’ actors, Matt Lanter, recently spoke about 90210’s uncertain future; “right now, we don’t know if we’re coming back or not for 90210. We’re kind of in this limbo area…I think if we are back for season six, there’s gonna be some major changes that take place for the characters.”

I guess now he doesn’t have to worry about any of that stuff.

The series finale, in which Prince Michael Jackson will make his acting debut, is set to air on May 13th.

Lindsay Lohan To Guest Star On Charlie Sheen’s Anger Management!

Just when you thought it was safe to turn on your television again, Lindsay Lohan is set to appear on FX’s Anger Management.

You can thank Charlie Sheen people.

Yes that’s right, the same Charlie Sheen who dished out $100,000 to help a very undeserving Lindsay pay off part of what she owes the man, has now landed her a cameo on his show.  Apparently Lindsay will be playing herself, so be prepared to see a hot drunken mess beating up random people, and no we’re not talking about Charlie.

The two actors, who met on the set of Scary Movie 5, became friends in spite of reports that Lindsay refused to kiss Charlie because of his “”spotty history;” which is exactly how we think of Lindsay’s history, so go figure on that one. This will only make for a more interesting episode, since Lindsay’s Anger Management role allegedly includes forming “a romantic relationship with Sheen’s character after becoming his therapy patient.”

I guess even a “spotty history” can be overlooked for a $100k and a paying gig, eh Lindsay?

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb Fighting Over TODAY Show!

According to a new report, two female co-workers are feuding! I know, shocking right?!

TMZ is reporting that there is tension brewing on the TODAY Show set courtesy of Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.

The two co-anchors, are reportedly feuding over the location of their hit morning show. See, the NBC morning show currently films in New York City, something which upsets Kathie, 59, who would like to move the show to Los Angeles.

However Hoda, 48, is adamant that she wants the show to stay in NYC and has no desire to move it to Hollywood. TMZ also claims the tension between the ladies began when Hoda felt Kathie Lee snubbed her by not promoting her book on the air.

“Both women are really strong, so tension is almost inevitable,” says a source, adding that the ladies have reached a temporary compromise to film for a few weeks in L.A. on occasion. Kathie however is being relentless and wants a permanent move to Los Angeles. Diva much?

Somewhere I’m sure Matt Lauer is breathing a sigh of relief that this time around, the TODAY drama doesn’t involve him!
