Aishwarya, 38, gave birth to her first child Aaradhya last year, and ever since, the baby’s face has remained under wraps… until today!
Mother and daughter were seen at the airport leaving for their final destination of Chicago (with a quick stop in NY to visit her sister-in-law, Shweta Bachchan Nanda), where Abhishek Bachchan is shooting Dhoom 3.
Aishwarya Rai, Aaradhya and Abhishek? Try saying that five times fast.
She held baby Aaradhya close as she was quickly led through the crowd, doing her best to avoid the paparazzi However, she looked fine in her head-to-toe black assemble by sindoor.
Hubby/Papa, Abhishek has been shooting Dhoom 3 in Chicago for almost a month now and is finally having his family out for a visit. It’s about time. Geesh!
Aishwarya’s visit is also timely as Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine is due to be released. Could she be curious to see how her replacement, Kareena Kapoor, did in the film? Kapoor was director, Bhandarkar’s, first choice anyway, after Aishwarya backed out due to her pregnancy with baby-Aish.

Aishwarya Rai Responds to ‘Fat’ Criticism Over Her Weight in New Interview
Weeks after she was slammed by some Bollywood fans for not losing her baby weight quickly enough, Aishwarya Rai is now responding to the “fat” criticism.
The Indian actress, 38, who showed off her fabulous figure at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival last week, is speaking out on the negativity about her weight, her six-month old daughter Aaradhya, and how motherhood has changed both her life and body.
In the excerpts below from her interview with NDTV, Aishwarya gives a classy response when asked about the weight backlash, stating that the positive far outweighs the negative comments.
Aishwayra responds: “Firstly, as always, whenever there is the wave of opinions, and I’ve always said this, it’s the truth—I’m sure you will endorse it since you know the facts as well—the haters are a drop in the ocean. There’s that much more love, you know? So any kind of negativity in any case… it just doesn’t stick, it just drops off, it doesn’t matter at all.”
She continues, “There’s so much of love—people see the real picture, there’s so much love for this blessed experience. They’ve given me so much love throughout my career, throughout my life in the public eye, and at every phase… And now, the amount of love Abhishek and I and the family and Aaradhya have received—it’s blessed to be in this place, and I can only take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone for all their love and good wishes and blessings. That’s the real thing.”
Aish adds: “The rest of it is opinions, and they vary and it doesn’t matter. This is reality, this is who I am. I am a mother, and this (referring to her weight) can happen and it happened with me, and that’s fine! And that’s life! I’ve never been the one who endorsed size zero anyways—you guys speculated I was pregnant way before I was so many times! So it just goes to show that I have lived the real life in the public eye, and that continues. There are a lot of people out there that recognize that, see that, and share that energy with me, and that’s what matters: reality.”

‘The world’s most beautiful woman’ Aishwarya Rai stepped out again at the Cannes 2012 Film Festival sizzling!
Aishwarya, 39, is not giving in to the haters who decided to slam the Bollywood actress for not losing her baby weight soon enough. By the way, it’s been less than a year since Aish gave birth to her baby girl with husband Abhishek Bachchan.
On Friday, Aishwarya flaunted her post baby figure on the red carpet for the premiere of Robert Pattinson‘s Cosmopolis.
She also spoke to reporters about being a new mom!
“[Motherhood] is wonderful. You ask the question and I beam!” Aishwarya told reporters about her 6-month-old daughter, Aaradhya. “It’s splendid,” she added. “It’s inexplicable. The joy, the bliss, is wonderful. A smile from my daughter and that’s it! She’s good. She’s great.”

Aishwarya Rai Called Fat By Bollywood Fans For Not Losing Baby Weight!
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who owns the title of the most beautiful woman in the world, is on the receiving end of some backlash today!
Aishwarya’s crime? Not losing her baby weight quickly enough. For realz. See Aishwarya, 38, stepped out this week — 7 months after giving birth to a baby girl — and was snapped in the above picture sporting what appears to be a double chin.
This led some fans to unleash on the actress, criticizing her for letting her fans down. Some even went a step further, suggesting Aish has a ‘duty’ to her fans to regain her pre-pregnancy figure. Wowzers.
And one website, which posted a video of the star looking heavier, used elephant sound effects to poke fun at her weight. That video has been viewed over 500,000 times.
And unfortunately for Aishwarya, few fans are coming to her defense. One left a comment on the video stating, “She is a Bollywood actress and it is her duty to look good and fit,” one said. Another one added: “She needs to learn from people like Victoria Beckham who are back to size zero weeks after their delivery.”
As for Aishwarya, it appears she is more focused on enjoying motherhood than going back to a pre-baby weight. The former Miss World has stated she is in no rush to lose the weight, adding she simply wants to ‘enjoy motherhood.’ Good for her!
Aish is married to actor Abhishek Bachchan. The two tied the knot in 2007.
