Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones Have Split, Says Report
After 12-years of marriage, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have called it quits, claims the National Enquirer.
The usually inaccurate tabloid claims that the couple had “hush-hush trial separation” over the summer, during which Michael moved out and stayed in a “nearby rental” owned by a rich buddy of his. A “source” that spoke to the Enquirer claims that the marriage “buckled under the pressure of dealing with Michael’s cancer battle, his druggie son Cameron’s incarceration and Catherine’s struggle with bipolar II disorder.”
So, aside from this alleged source, what other evidence does the Enquirer offer up to back up their claim? Only that Catherine missed a special screening for Kirk Douglas’ (Michael’s dad) film, Spartacus, last August, as well as a family dinner that same day.
A source also believes Catherine’s absence was deliberate; “I think [Michael] felt completely betrayed that Catherine didn’t show up,’” the insider said. “But maybe she was upset with him and wanted to make a point by snubbing him on this special family evening.”
While this is all very dramatic, a representative for the couple says the Enquirer’s report is “not true.”

Catherine Zeta Jones Opens Up About Bipolar Disorder
Catherine Zeta Jones bravely announced her bi-polar II disorder diagnosis to the public via People last year, and admits that things haven’t always been easy since then.
“It’s been an intense time, in good ways and bad,” Catherine told InStyle in an interview for their December issue. “You find out who you really are and who you’re married to. You find things inside yourself you never imagined were there.”
Catherine, 43, tells the magazine that the best thing she did was stop going online because she is “the sort of person who will just look for the negative,” and the things people have to say can be “painful.”
“[My husband] Michael [Douglas] can’t really understand it, but that is the way I am. With my bipolar thing, that’s poison. So I just stopped. Cold turkey. And it’s so liberating.”
Catherine hopes that her going public with her diagnosis will help remove the “stigma” attached to the disorder; “I’m not the kind of person who likes to shout out my personal issues from the rooftops, but with my bipolar becoming public, I hope fellow suffers will know it is completely controllable.”
Here’s to hoping her honesty about the whole thing will help others.

The a-list actor went shirtless and got some fake tattoos for a new photo shoot for W magazine. The edgy photoshoot is to promote Tom’s new role as rock star Stacee Jaxx in the Broadway musical turned movie Rock of Ages.
Tom, 49, tells the mag via Celebuzz: “I knew we had to push the sexuality because of the nature of the character and the songs. He’s singing, ‘I want to know what love is.’”
Rock of Ages, which also stars other a-listers Malin Akerman, Julianne Hough, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand, is set to hit theaters on June 15.
