Taylor Swift Says She’s Not a “Clingy, Insane, Desperate Girlfriend”, Complains About Tina Fey, The Media, and Rumors

Taylor Swift had a lot of tough questions to answer during an interview with Vanity Fair.

VF’s April cover girl called out the media, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, and talked about why she avoids the “tabloid part of our culture.”

When discussing “mean girls” and the joke that Tina and Amy made about her love life during the Golden Globes, Taylor had some harsh words for the two comedians; “You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people, because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.’”  Low blow Taylor, Tina and Amy were only speaking the truth.

Taylor also believes that the media has created a fictional character of her, one that is clingy and desperate, because she writes about her “feelings,” which she believes she be celebrated, not ridiculed;  ““For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated—a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way—that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist.”  Or maybe the media just sees the same thing we all do- a woman who can’t help but trash her exes, while making a lot of money off doing so.

When discussing her highly publicized love life, Taylor thinks the rumors regarding how many men she dates and allegations that she buys up homes to be near all her boyfriends, are pretty ridiculous; “The fact that there are slide shows of a dozen guys that I either hugged on a red carpet or met for lunch or wrote a song with. . . it’s just kind of ridiculous,” the 23-year-old told writer Nancy Jo Sales, also stating that she has only dated Conor Kennedy and Harry Styles since 2011.  And, while Taylor herself won’t go into the details of her relationship with Harry or in general, she has no qualms about letting someone else do her dirty work, as VF explains; “Although one of Swift’s rules is that she doesn’t go into the personal details of any of her relationships, she authorized someone to discuss them with [Nancy Jo] Sales,” the magazine revealed.

The “authorized” source told VF that Harry Styles “wore Taylor down” until she agreed to date him.  However, following an incident that led Harry to warn Taylor of a picture of him kissing a “friend” making the round on the Internet, Taylor ended things only to take Harry back later on, but not without reservations; “the whole time she says she feels like he’s looking at every girl, and then when they were in London together he “disappears one night and after that it was like he just didn’t want to keep going.” That’s when the relationship fell apart for good.

As for the rumors that Taylor bought a home near Conor Kennedy while they were together, Nancy Jo confirms that this rumor is true, though a source calls it a “house flip” and “short-term investment,” stating the home had recently been resold.  Though this rumor turned out to be true, Taylor contends that claims that she buys homes near all her boyfriends are false, and that when gossip like that gets to be too much, she reminds herself that “this life is amaaaazing.”

That would make a good song- This life is amazing, so why can’t I stop whining?
