“Everyone has the right to their own opinion,” Kate told Page Six regarding criticism over her weight and curvaceous body. “I am in a good place in my career, so it’s all right.”
Kate isn’t’ the only one defending what she calls her “healthy curves,” fellow SI bikini models are speaking out against the ridiculous comments that Kate is “too fat.” “Everyone is hyper-critical of women, and it’s got to stop,” Alyssa Miller said. “We should be embracing all body types.”Chrissy Teigen added, “I don’t think people realize we read everything.”
At 20-years-old, Kate, who is said to be a 34DD, is enjoying her second year in a row as the cover of the coveted Sports Illustrated, Swimsuit Issue. Her star is definitely on the rise, and it’s great to see a young woman who is proud of not starving herself for the sake of fame.
And for all those critics of her body- Let’s see you rockin’ a bikini and getting paid to do so.

In today’s news, the official cover of the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has been released and Kate Upton continues to prove that having big boobs really does matter!
The sexy swimsuit model, who might or might not be slightly average if you take away the mega sized breasts (Hey, somebody had to say it!), is gracing the coveted SI cover for the second year in a row!
Yes, just a year after snagging her first cover, 20-year-old Kate, has landed this year’s cover spot all thanks to the sizzling bikini photo shoot she did last December in Antarctica in 35 degree weather. Got give props to Kate, as that definitely requires some bravery!

“We can finally talk about Antarctica!!!!!…Took us 2 months to thaw out,” Kate tweeted after the cover reveal.
The Michigan-born, Florida-raised bombshell and 9 other bikini models are scheduled to appear on the David Letterman Show on Monday. The 2013 SI cover actually leaked on Friday, which led to Sports Illustrated choosing to release the official cover earlier than expected.

PHOTOS: Kate Upton Slammed For Being “Fat” After Bikini Photo Shoot In Antarctica!
Kate Upton braved the extreme Antarctica cold recently for hush-hush Sports Illustrated photo shoot.
The 20-year old model was on a private 10-day cruise from Argentina to Antarctica that departed on November 29th and returned December 9th. Once at their destination Kate and crew got busy on the shoot, which included Kate stripping down to an itsy-bitsy white bikini while aboard the cruise ship. The temperature in Antarctica was hitting -35 degrees. Kate’s was also photographed on islands crawling with cute penguins.
TMZ was told that the model only worked a few minutes at a time, and was huddled in a fur coat in between shots.
Kate’s shoot, while adventurous, has also led to some discussion on whether or not these pictures are just plain unflattering. Comments such as these can be found all over the TMZ discussion board:
“That chick is fat! If she’s only 20 I can only imagine what 30 will look like for her!”
“It’s official. She needs to go on a diet n workout program. Maybe 10 lbs, will firm her center up. She has DD’s at least. A few lost pounds won’t hurt her up top.”
Ouch. It wouldn’t be the first time Kate’s weight is criticized. Kate herself has responded to criticism by saying; “I’m not going to starve just to be thin. I want to enjoy life and I can’t if I’m not eating and miserable.” I say kudos to that!

Uber popular bikini model Kate Upton appears in Vogue for the first time in the magazine’s November issue!
The model looks fantastic in the shots which range from sexy to fashionable.
Kate. 20, who has been called “fat” for her cury figure, tells Vogue during her interview for the magazine that she isn’t willing to starve herself for her career. “I don’t want to starve myself. I still want to hang out with my family and be a normal girl.”
“I think it’s important to look at magazines and think a healthy lifestyle is attainable. Now that the fashion industry likes the idea of me, I’m happy if I can have an influence,” adds Kate.
Now that’s an attitude we can get behind. It’s nice to see Kate do a photo spread with clothes on. Well, maybe not for the guys, but I’m a fan!

Kate Upton Responds to Fat Criticism; Refuses To Starve Herself!
Model Kate Upton is finally firing back after being called “fat” and “lardy” by a cray-cray douchebag blogger last week.
A blogger from the Skinny Gossip site, which reportedly promotes the anorexic eating disorder, had this to say about Kate: “Huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs, terrible body definition — she looks like a squishy brick. Is this what American women are “striving” for now? The lazy, lardy look? Have we really gotten so fat in this country that Kate is the best we can aim for?”
Well, word has gotten back to 20-year-old swimsuit model who is now responding to the insane criticism.
“I’m not going to starve just to be thin. I want to enjoy life and I can’t if I’m not eating and miserable,” stated Kate. Her spokesman also added: “It’s absurd. Kate is gorgeous and very healthy.”
As for the cray-cray blogger who wrote the original article slamming Kate, it appears she is now backing down following the backlash against her.
“I never imagined it would grow to the point where the celebrities I was writing about were actually reading the articles, and that has made me think,” the anonymous writer of the “Skinny Gossip” blog wrote.
She went on to deny that her site is “pro-anorexia,” though admitting she has issues with food and eating. The writer also vowed to try to do better with her views and her blog even promising to remove the “Starving Tips of the Day” section on her site.
